I am going through a bit of a green smoothie obsession at the moment.
I have been making 1-1.5L of green smoothie each morning in my thermomix and aiming to get through it along with my usual meals each day. The high concentrate of nutrient goodness is addictive!!
Here are a few of my favourite green smoothie loves:
Smoothie 1:
3 kale leaves
1 carrot
2 stalks celery
1 lemon peeled
1/2 green apple
Fresh ginger to taste
500g-1L filtered water/ coconut water/ cold green tea
Ice cubes
Smoothie 2:
1 cup strawberries
1.5 cup baby spinach leaves1 lemon peeled
1/2 raw beetroot peeled
Mint leaves
500g- 1L filtered water
Ice
Smoothie 3:
3 kale leaves
3 Cos Lettuce leaves
1 cucumber
1 green apple
1/2 lemon peeled
parsley or mint leaves
500g- 1L filtered water/ coconut water/ cold green tea
Ice
Smoothie 4:
1.5 cup baby spinach leaves
1 tsp spirulina
1 orange
2 celery stalks
2 slices watermelon
ginger to taste
500g-1L filtered water
Ice
Blend each smoothie on the highest speed for about 1-1.5 minutes or 30seconds/ speed 9 in the thermomix.
If you have concerns regarding the extra energy on top of your meals. Reduce your meal sizes and have a glass of green smoothie with your meal. Satisfying, filling and far more nutritional benefits than that of your meal by itself.
