Perfect for post workout, on the go breakfast or as an afternoon pick me up. I love using this smoothie as a base for a nutritious breakfast bowl with extra chopped banana mixed through the smoothie and topped with my homemade granola and a dollop of pot set biodynamic or goats milk yogurt.
You can adjust some of the flavours according to your individual taste preference. I’m a bit of a cinnamon lover so tend to lean towards the 1 heaped tsp end and for those with a sweet tooth add an extra date or 2.
Recipe:
1 cup of chosen milk (I love it with either almond or coconut milk)
1/2 cup filtered water
1 frozen banana
2-3 medjool dates, pitted
1 tbs pot set organic yogurt (optional)
1 serving of a natural protein powder
1 tbs maca powder (optional)
1/2-1 tsp cinnamon
1-2 tbs chia seeds
1 tsp vanilla extract
8-10 ice cubes
Blend all the ingredients together and top with desired extras (chia seeds, pepitas, yogurt, coconut, sliced banana, cinnamon, nuts)
Enjoy!
